Audiology Extern

University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for two Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) fourth-year student externships beginning Summer 2027.  Our audiologists are ASHA-certified and experienced preceptors.  The Center has been in operations since 1967 and is open to the public.  We offer conventional and highly-specialized services for the community and underserved populations. 

Qualifications
Suitable applicants should be motivated and independent with a willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a University Clinic setting. Qualified candidates should have a strong foundation in diagnostic audiology and amplification services.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for the position include comprehensive adult and pediatric audiological evaluations, tinnitus assessment, and auditory processing evaluations. Aural rehabilitation services include hearing aid dispensing, individual/group education, and auditory training for children and adults with auditory processing disorders. The UNCG Speech and Hearing Center specializes in management of tinnitus and sound sensitivity disorders including hyperacusis and misophonia. 

Supervision
The fourth-year extern is an integral member of a team of professionals at the Center. The extern works closely with his/her clinical preceptor who provides instruction and guidance while fostering a collegial relationship.
