Paid AuD Externship

Mid-Michigan ENT is an otolaryngology practice committed to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care through collaboration between audiologists and ENT physicians. Our audiology department is comprised of 9 audiologists and 1 audiology coordinator, working closely with a team of 7 physicians to provide comprehensive hearing and balance care.

We are excited to offer one full-time fourth-year Au.D. externship opportunity for the 2027–2028 academic year. This externship provides an opportunity to gain experience in a collaborative private ENT setting while developing skills in advanced audiology procedures and specialty clinics.

Clinical Experience

The extern will have the opportunity to participate in a diverse range of audiologic services, including:

• Comprehensive diagnostic audiology
• Hearing aids and amplification
• Bone-anchored hearing systems (BAHA)
• Cochlear implants
• Vestibular evaluations
• Neurodiagnostic testing

Externship Highlights

• 12-month fourth-year Au.D. externship, May 2027–May 2028
• Located in East Lansing, Michigan
• Clinical experience with both adult and pediatric patients
• Supervision provided by ASHA CCC-A audiologists
• Experience in a collaborative private ENT practice
• Exposure to diagnostic audiology, amplification, BAHA, cochlear implants, vestibular evaluations, and neurodiagnostic testing

Requirements:

• Be currently enrolled in a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program through an accredited university
• Meet their academic program’s requirements for beginning a fourth-year externship
• Have completed all required academic coursework prior to beginning the externship
• Demonstrate strong clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Be motivated to learn and contribute to a collaborative ENT/audiology team
